What is Ignite Ohio?
Ignite Ohio is a statewide, year-long movement of spiritual revival, practical reformation, and mission release, culminating in 20+ churches conducting simultaneous proclamation initiatives across Ohio in September 2026.
What are the goals?
The vision is revival — to ignite hearts to burn for Jesus. Reformation — to ignite lives to shine for Jesus. Release — to ignite hands to work for Jesus.
Why Ignite Ohio?
When we move together in one holy mission, we ignite excitement, attract resources, and release a wave of spiritual power across our state that no church could unleash alone.
Who is leading Ignite Ohio?
Ohio Conference of Seventh-day
It is led by the Ohio Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in collaboration with the Columbia Union Conference who will provide speakers to each proclamation site.
Where will it take place?
Local Churches Across Ohio
All initiatives will happen at the local churches, making participation simple, accessible, and community-focused.
When it will take place?
September 19–26, 2026
Various activities will occur during the year, but the climax event —20+ simultaneous proclamation initiatives will occur from September 19-26, 2026.
28-Day Acts Challenge
February 1-28, 2026
churches should read one chapter of Acts daily. We will meet on the Conference Zoom every Friday in February from 7–8 PM for united prayer.
30-Day Acts Challenge
From June 1–30, 2026
participating churches should encourage members to invite an unchurched friend or neighbor for a meal that builds friendship and opens the door to spiritual connection.
08-Day Acts Challenge
From September 19-26, 2026
20+ churches across Ohio will host their proclamation series simultaneously.

Ignite Ohio FAQs
This initiative is for all English-speaking and non-hispanic multilingual churches.
Each participating church should engage in the 28-Day Acts Challenge, the Share Your Table Month, and the Proclamation Initiative. Churches should also commit to other pre- and post-campaign activities, participate in the local training provided by the Ohio Conference, and invest a minimum of $10,000 into their proclamation initiative.
Each participating church will receive $5,000, one fully funded Bible worker during the proclamation series, and a fully funded speaker provided by the Columbia Union.
Since the Columbia Union is providing speakers, we want to honor their partnership by receiving the gifted speakers they send. The only exception is for churches with specific language needs.
Contact the conference office, and they will guide your leadership team through the next steps.
A proclamation initiative is a week of intentional gospel-centered preaching, teaching, and appeals that lead people to a personal response to Jesus.
The vision is revival — to ignite hearts to burn for Jesus. Reformation — to ignite lives to shine for Jesus. Release — to ignite hands to work for Jesus.
The $10,000 is released after your church board votes to officially join Ignite Ohio, builds an evangelism plan, and the local pastor fills out the commitment form.
If a church withdraws after funds or personnel have been assigned, we ask for early communication so resources can be reassigned.
You can stay informed by joining the Ignite Ohio email list. Sign up here.
You can use the $10,000 flexibly across pre-campaign, proclamation week, and post campaign activities, since the goal is long-term discipleship.
